Today I got a PR at the meet! My fastest time previous to today was 21:20, which was at State last October. My fast time this season previous to today was 21:27 so I took off over a minute from my time! It was pretty hot today but the course was kinda fun. We ran at the Jordan Park Par Three golf course. At the beginning I was struggling to stay with Ashleigh but finally got a good pace going and had my best race of the season!

AM: We ran up by the VA and back along Guardsman. I ran with Elliott which was a lot of fun and felt really good, a little sore from yesterday but sore in a good way. When we got back to the track we ran 10 x 200's with a 200 recovery.

PM: We drove down to Liberty Park and ran 3 laps. The final lap we were supposed to open up our stride.

Today we did the 5 mile zoo loop after school which was pretty fun.

Later, for the Homecoming game, we ran a relay from Olympus to Easte - 7 miles - each person ran a half mile. I ran first, which was a lot of fun though kind of embarassing to be running along such a busy street in my XC uniform and red fishnets. Then we ran from Sunnyside Park down to East and ran a lap around the track before (attempting to) light the E with the torch. It didn't light very well but it was way fun to run!

Today was the Orem meet. It was pouring rain, cold, muddy, and wet - not very ideal for running a cross country race in! My time wasn't at all what I was hoping for. The weather certainly played a part in that. I had mud everywhere after. Last year I ran 21:57 at this meet, I don't think it was quite as muddy last year. I don't remember being as distracted by the weather last year either, which was cold and rainy.

This morning we ran a mile and a half warm up (2 laps, 3 laps speed changes, 1 more lap) then did an 800 (3:01), 4x200's (38-42 seconds), an 800 (3:10) and 4x200's (38-41 seconds), then 2 laps cool down. My shin splints hurt a little bit. The 800's were killer!

This morning we drove to Liberty Park and did one lap warm up then 2 laps of Indian. My shin splints were giving me some trouble. Lots of icing!

Today my left shin was hurting very noticably when I ran. I hope it's not still hurting by regions next week!

My shins are killing me, even when I'm not running like when I'm just sitting there. It's really not good... I took an ice bath tonight so I hope that'll help.

Today we ran 2 miles at the park in Taylorsville, which we barely made it to. My left shin hurt but my ankle didnt hurt as much. Regions tomorrow! ah!

Today was regions! I found out that the meet two weeks ago at West wasn't actually a full 5k so today was a PR for me! My shin and ankle didn't hurt during the race, they did a bit during the warm up, but once the ibuprophen kicked in, it was like a miracle! Our girls varsity team was 3rd in the region, yay! Now just one week until state!

I really didn't run as well as I wanted to at all. Last year I ran a 21:20 and it was snowing. This year was perfect weather. Oh well. It seemed like almost everyone was having slower times. I felt like I had a good race though. Cross country's over until next year!

My shins have really been hurting me ever since state. Even when I'm not doing any physical activity, like when I'm just sitting around. I've been icing them everyday. Today I barely made it the whole 3.5 miles. I kept getting side aches and my shins hurt and mentally I was just not there. I think I'll take some more time off.
